For 30 years, Crystal Snead Crockett has been more than a business owner in Orange County—she has been a symbol of perseverance, purpose, and community. As an African American woman and entrepreneur, she has built a legacy that uplifts others through faith, hard work, and compassion.
Crystal began her entrepreneurial journey at just 20 years old. Over three decades, she has employed nearly 20 people, two of whom have gone on to open and successfully operate their own salons. Her leadership reflects the wisdom of her late mother, Florine Williams Snead, who often said, “Be a labor great or small, do it well or not at all.” Crystal lives by those words, exemplifying excellence and
integrity in all that she does.
Known for her nurturing and encouraging spirit, Crystal’s salon is more than a business—it’s a space for restoration. Beyond styling hair, she often serves as a confidant, mentor, and friend. Her clients leave not only looking beautiful but feeling renewed in spirit. This year, Crystal was honored for owning and operating one of the longest-running businesses in Orange County.
Her care for others extends to her faith and community. A lifelong member of Emanuel Baptist Church, Crystal leads the youth, devotion, and praise teams and is always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed.Crystal’s greatest joy is her family. Her oldest son, Ahmad, graduated Bridgewater College, embodying her values of discipline and determination. Her younger son, Christian, continues that legacy as an academic scholar.
In 2023, Crystal married the love of her life, further enriching a journey defined by faith, family, and service. Her story stands as a powerful testament to perseverance and the beauty of giving back.
